A brand new chapter of my life

8 August 2011 marks the beginning of a brand new chapter of my life. The love of my life proposed to me at 0000. It was really a memorable and pleasant surprise. Many people asked me what he did. So I'm gonna write it all down for all to read:

We bought tickets to watch The Lion King on the 7th with Eunice and MK. So in the beginning I planned to chill out after the event to celebrate his birthday. However, on the 6th, he said that he had to go to school early on the 8th so we should just get back home after watching Lion King. And we did.

So when I got home, it was already 2330. I quickly bathed so that I could call him at 2350 to wish him happy birthday over the phone. When I called him, he said he will call me back a few minutes later because he was parking his car. When he called back again, I wished him happy birthday and he said he has a gift for me too. I thought he was at my doorstep, but he told me to go to the kitchen and look out of the window. At the window, I saw the most beautiful sight I've ever seen in all my life.

I was at a lost at what to do. He told me to go downstairs. I rushed to the door but realised I had to take a picture of this beautiful scene before rushing down and so I did. When I reached the field, there were cheers and claps from the neighbours who were standing at their kitchen windows. I was already in tears. He gave me a BIG bouquet of 99 roses and told me that from this day forth, he's "giving" me his birthday and that it's no longer just his birthday but ours.

He gave his promises and knelt down on one foot to propose. Some neighbours shouted, "Say yes!" I was too touched to say anything and I just nodded. So he gave me the ring and put it on for me and we hugged. The neighbours cheered and clapped again.

Then he told me that our friends are at the side. At first, I saw someone taking photos next to us. I thought my neighbours are so good that they even came down to take photos for us. Are the photos gonna appear on STOMP? Then I realised it was his friend, Nicholas who were taking photos for us. The only thing I could say then was, I'm very unglam. I was wearing my sleeveless top and FBT shorts. But since it's a surprise, I guess it's ok.

So from 8 August 2011 onwards, my life is no longer my own but with Ken Yeoh Ghim Boon. My dearest darling, we will go through everything together, be it good or bad. We are TOGETHER in all that we do. I am yours and you are mine! Thank you for being such a gentleman who always put me first in all that you do. Thank you for loving me for who I am and willing to share your life with me. I LOVE YOU!!!
